When you think of nobility, you imagine kings, queens and people of royalty. Going a bit deeper into the word, nobility is being of a higher stature than others. It's having a certain sparkle that lights up a dim room. It's having flair in everything you do. Nobility is receiving the admiration and praises of others. You may come from a long line of noble people. Richmond dentist Fotolia_1969589_XS.jpg

In Richmond dental crowns, nobility also exists. We give you crowns that are filled with full gold alloy. But full gold, being an alloy, consists of at least two of these: gold, palladium, or platinum.

Although gold gives our crowns its nobility, it is not just because of the precious metals that go into making them. They are also very adaptable, along with providing a steely toughness that protects your root and gums. Its pliability means we are not stuck with one shape. If the crown needs to be changed on the spot, we can do it on the prepared tooth.

Gold crowns also have superb anti-shock qualities. They are efficient at protecting your tooth from the hard foods that you may eat. You teeth can come under enormous pressure from foods like meat and firm fruits and vegetables.

The noble status of gold crowns goes even further. This beneficial attribute is their ability to withstand cracking.

As a stand-alone metal, gold is easily malleable. That's why a 100 percent gold crown would never work. If you did have one, it would not be very effective. In your first meal, it would probably bend and twist so that it won't even look like a crown anymore. It would probably look like a spent golden bullet wedged inside your mouth.

When manufacturers make an alloy, they put in all the best things that can be found in each of the metals. Palladium can be made to be soft or hard and gold, of course, is pliable. Put them in the same mix and it results in a refined gold dental crown. This kind of crown won't let you down during times of hearty chewing. But it is also reliable and tough because of the firmness of the palladium.
