Richmond Dentist Crown Cracks Down Against TMJ
Do your jaw muscles ache every morning? Do you find yourself grinding your teeth when you feel that the pressure is on? If you can relate to both questions, then you may have a condition called TMJ, also known as temporomandibular joint disorder. It's really only a technical phrase for grinding your teeth at night. The condition is often linked to snoring.
So, if you've experienced pain in the mornings, you may want to find out if you've got TMJ. Don't leave it untreated because your teeth will whittle down bit by bit from the continuous friction. Make a date to see me at my Richmond dentist office and we'll see what we can do for you. Maybe, you could get a dental mouth guard to stop your teeth from grinding together. Maybe what you need is a Richmond dentist crown.
A Richmond dentist crown is not always the solution. It is only advisable if you are a habitual teeth grinder. That is, you have been doing it ever since you can remember. My first task is to examine the cusps of your teeth. These are more conspicuously seen in your pre-molars and molars. If I see that they have truly been worn down, you would almost definitely require a dental crown.
By refusing to have a crown, you might have eating difficulties. You may also start speaking in a distinct manner. In situations where you have neglected it for too long, it could cause your jaws to shift sideways.
Before putting in a crown, I will first take away some of your tooth material to make room for the crown. The enamel and dentine are the technical names for the parts that are scraped away.
Then we prepare the materials that make up the crown. I will give you a precious metal alloy for the Richmond dental crown. I will only rub away a slender portion of your enamel because, this substance is quite tough even in small doses.
Then again, you may not want precious metal. If you would rather have ceramic, porcelain or other non-metal materials for your crown, I would need more time to prepare your tooth. I would have to cut right down to the inner layer. We need to do it this way so that it won't break.
Porcelain and ceramic are fine. But, you couldn't do much better than a hybrid dental crown. This is made from porcelain and metal, which is very strong and protects your tooth. In addition, it looks like a real tooth. It's double delight for your teeth.
I have prepared a very special 36 page report that lets you in on the ins and outs of sedation dentistry. You can read it immediately by downloading it. And it's free. I will make sure I safeguard your private data so that no one else will have access to it and you can quit my list whenever you wish. I would, however, like to share with you pictures and stills that we take now and again and info that you will almost certainly think is extremely interesting and useful to your cause. And please contact my Midlothian VA office and make a date with our office. It will be the best thing you do because we can truly help.
