Getting Temporary Dental Crowns here in Richmond

If you want to have a dental crown in Richmond, it has to be fitted exactly to your tooth. The crown should also match in terms of appearance. Make sure it has the same overall look and color of other teeth in your mouth. Richmond dentist Fotolia_7059513_XS.jpg

A dental crown is supposed to be there for a lifetime. It cannot be flimsy, hence your dentist has to make sure it is built to last.

In our clinic, the lab technicians spend a lot of time on making sure the crowns are dependable. They are professionals. They want to make sure that what we put on your teeth are the real thing and won't let you down after only a few weeks or months. I can't ask for more than that in my profession — giving you a great porcelain crown that can do its job for a long time, blends in with your other teeth and looks wonderful.

However, I should let you know that the procedure isn't over in one day. After your first visit, we need some time to make the permanent crown.

Your tooth also needs some preparation work. The area has to be primed for the porcelain crown. Some of the natural part of your tooth will have to be filed down to make way for your crown. Of course, you will want to be using your teeth and still smile as if nothing has happened. Basically, what we do is put in a temporary crown.

Here in my Richmond dental office, we will give you a temporary crown will do the job quite well. It could perform for many weeks, probably even a month. While all this is happening, your permanent crown is being manufactured. But we do not want a stop-gap crown that is fixed so firmly that we might not be able to take it out.

In creating your crown, we must first form an impression of your tooth and the tooth that is directly opposite. This allows you the freedom to continue eating the wonderful foods that are out there.

It allows us to make temporary crowns at exactly the right height. We do this so you can chew all you want. Then we put the material into the mold so the temporary crown can fit on your tooth almost exactly. After that, we attach the temporary crown using a cement that is strong but not permanent.

However, it is probably advisable that you not chew things like caramels, or breaking your teeth on ice. Even carrots should be set aside, unless sliced thin. You'll only have to do this while we do the best job we can on your permanent crown. Visit us at our clinic whenever you are free.

And don't forget, you simply must get my 36 page report on the process known as sedation dentistry and how it can help you even if you are afraid of the dentist, have been known to suffer from gag reflex problems, or suffer other problems whenever you are in the chair because of aches and pains that emanate from your neck, jaw and back. In addition, you will be able to learn the other ways of benefiting from sedation dentistry. Your email and name are both safe with me, I will never give them out and you can opt out anytime.
