Richmond Gum Disease and Dental Veneers

Plaque buildup can make your gums start to bleed. Bacteria creates plaque. Bacteria multiply because of the leftover crumbs of food that get confined in our tooth crevices. Richmond dentist Fotolia_6874248_XS.jpg

Brushing removes a good deal of the pieces of food and leftover plaque. Mouthwash eliminates the germs and keeps your gums spotless.

You should try to buy a brand of mouthwash that is made to fight and kill germs. Most mouthwashes in the market are just glorified perfume. Once the pleasant aroma is gone, the bad breath comes back immediately.

Infected gums may not seem that important to people who don't suffer from health problems. But for anyone who has a damaged immune system, anything can be a big problem. Preventing gum infection will mean keeping out of the hospital. Or extending the number of years they have to live. There's a connection between heart attacks and gum disease, some scientists believe.

Though brushing is fundamentally a good thing for gums, excess brushing may virtually corrode the gums and part them from their proper place next to the jaw and teeth. This leaves more space for food to stick into. And the more food that gets confined, the more bacteria there will be. More bacteria means more bleeding gums and gum infection.

When the lower part of the teeth get revealed, they begin to shrink up due to the mouthwash, because many mouthwashes are made with an alcohol base. Alcohol disappears like a streak of lightning, taking the wetness of your teeth with it. This may produce sensitive teeth.

When the gums are bleeding and too much of the teeth are bare, I counsel folks to try dental veneers as soon as they can. Come to see me at my office in Richmond and we will preclude gum disease and sensitive teeth with just two appointments. In Richmond gum disease is something I treat a lot.

I have spent a lot of time putting together my unique 36 page special report on the nuts and bolts of sedation dentistry. It is free for you to download and read.
