New Richmond gum disease treatment

I treat a lot of patients who have gum disease. This article should help you determine if you have gum disease and help you help yourself. I am a Richmond gum disease dentist, meaning that I am a general dentist who treats a lot of gum disease in Richmond. My office is located in Midlothian.

Recognize first that gum disease is a symptom of aging. It is very common as we get older. Even animals that live in the wild in nature get gum disease. They are not able to take advantage of my Richmond gum disease expertise, of course!

The best thing about My Richmond dentistry office is that we treat gum disease quite well. There are a lot of non surgical gum disease treatments that we can do even if you already have gum issues.

I find that maybe 60% to 80% of my patients in my Richmond dental office show some gum disease, maybe even a higher percentage.

And one way I see this is in the x-rays that I will occasionally take. The x-rays show bone loss quite well. As we age we lose bone but there are things we can do to stop the bone loss. I can show this to you when you visit me in my Richmond dentist office.new richmond gum disease treatment

One thing you can do on your own is to brush two minutes per day, twice or three times per day. This stimulates the gums and may help prevent bone loss. It also removes food particles that may decay and feed acid-producing bacteria.

Second is to floss because brushing only stimulates the back and front of the gums. Flossing stimulates the gums between the teeth. And again it loosens food particles that brushing doesn't get two. You want to avoid having gum disease in Richmond or anywhere else, and brushing and flossing are a great help.

Third for treating gum disease in Richmond is to have your teeth cleaned regularly. A deeper cleaning may be important on occasion, and also what we call periodontal therapy. These remove plaque and may help dislodge films of bacteria that are thought to eat away at the bone in the jaw.

Sometimes we will do a whole soft tissue management program at home that uses more than just the three dental keys to gum disease I mentioned above. I would love to see you and help with your gum disease here in Richmond.

And please get my 9 page special report on the mini smile makeover that discusses all your options as far as Richmond dental veneers, my Richmond cosmetic dentistry and much more. I will never share your information with anyone and you can opt out anytime.
